Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, mei has always loved making things. She is that kid who pours passion in making a perfect mud ball in the playground and gift her friends beautiful necklaces out of blades of grass. Eventually her love of handcraft became her means of communication in life.

Through her craft, she likes to communicate three things in life: aesthetic, humor, and story.

After working for years in jewelry business in Tokyo, mei moved to the Bay Area to pursue her independent career.

She now lives with her husband and 7 year old son in Berkeley, continuing to communicate her three favorite things in life. Her means of communication for now are jewelry and pottery.
